Trinity – 16 July 1945

If the radiance of a thousand suns
Were to burst at once into the sky,
That would be like the splendor of the Mighty One…
I am become Death,
The shatterer of Worlds.

The Bhagavad-Gita

Bad Bad Juju

“In that brief instant in the remote New Mexico desert the tremendous effort of the brains and brawn of all these people came suddenly and startlingly to the fullest fruition.”

Now that…is a bomb!

I named my Guinea Pig, MOHAWK, after this one.

I’m still looking for actual detonation pix of Tsar Bomba, the largest thermonuclear device ever lit. Can find pictures of it underneath the bomber, being dropped, but no Tsar Bomba!

I’d say that’s got a little more boom than a firecracker!

I will assume that you have the fine book 100 Suns by Michael Light. If you don’t you need to run out and get it. Right now.

YOU have a Guinea Pig? You totally didn’t strike me as the type. I would have pictured you with a Hedgehog or Iguana. You are full of surprises.
