DECEPTION PASS

When I was here, I was searching for Orcas.

The Pea Soup Fog was so thick, you couldn’t see the bow from the stern. I was on an antique 60 footer right out of an Agatha Christie novel, and it was damn cold for July. I didn’t take the photos, or paint this picture, but when we emerged from the fog, this is exactly what I saw. Very cool.

Pod C I believe.

I highly recommend Friday Harbor.

.. I saw a pod up in the Bering Sea once… beautiful creatures to behold… I was in a 35 foot fishing boat being tossed around like a cork.. not a pleasant ride, but I’ll never forget seeing the orcas…
