The nations we support, both monetarily and with humanitarian aid, every time they suffer a catastrophe…have not offered anything.

We’ll go it alone, as usual, and in the end we’ll be better and stronger for it.

I wouldn’t have expected any help from the outside world–not surprising at all. Everybody hates us. I am shocked by the rampant lawlessness. This has inspired me to finally put together that “disaster kit”, which will include guns and ammo with the food and water. Lesson learned: If things go to shit in a hurry, you’re on your own!

we can`t believe what happened after the Katarina-Desaster. Why took help so f…… long?? – we have tears in our eyes when we see people suffering like this – waiting for food and water – dying – in a wealthy country like yours – this is the real desaster.
I can tell you – the “Outside-World” is deeply shocked and help is on it`s way – from Europe too. But why should we hate you?? and why do you call us “outside-world”?? – we live together on this planet!!
We know that there are people – politicans – who are responsible for all this and other disasters around the world – it`s not you!! But it`s not my business to tell you what to do – thank god – you live in a democracy and everybody got a choice.
Our feelings and thoughts are with the Katarina-victims and we hope that you people get this tragedy soon under control!!!!

The reason certain individuals are shooting at rescuers (and engineers) in New Orleans is simple: they’re not done looting yet.
There’s a certain bad element that is pretty happy with the current state of affairs in New Orleans right now. Lots of good stuff, no one defending it… all they need is time to clean up and clean it out. Time they won’t have if the authorities are done with levee fixing and people rescuing, and can concentrate on lawbreakers.
Sad, but predictable.
