IF THEN ELSE

From time to time, I’m called on to teach advanced spreadsheet and SQL database classes. To do this, I must instruct my students how to extract data from a *NIX relational database using the Open Data Base Connectivity (ODBC) drivers supplied for a particular operating system.

Note to everyone…if you can’t configure an ODBC driver…you ain’t advanced. I’m just saying.

It is amazing to me that most people have no concept of IF THEN ELSE (ITE). Theoretically, using ITE logic, every problem can be mathematically solved.

IF she loves you, THEN corral her, ELSE break for cover.

It really is simple.

An uncle of mine gave me some pretty good advice along those same lines.

My wife said, “IF, THEN, WHATEVER.”
