My pap’s .22 bolt action rifle; a 12 gauge (you know to blow holes in intruders); my .38 revolver and a 30 ot 6 for all manner of beasties . . . I don’t need anything bigger than my .38 to carry. The .22 is perfect for small beasties, the 12 gauge is a good bird gun as well as a good home protection device. And the 30 ot 6 is my go-to deer rifle.
bolt or lever .22….prefer a lever…Maybe a Henry
double barrel 12 gauge..an old Stevens is great
.45 long colt…Super Black Hawk
.7mm Rem Mag in a Weatherby
Man, there’s a tough call. You either have to give up a pistol, a shotgun, or a .22 rifle to get a good mix…
If it’s 4 and only 4…
Winchester Model 12 pump in the manly gauge of 12.
Ruger Blackhawk in .357 Mag
Marlin lever action rifle in .357 Mag
Garand M1D Sniper variant in 30.06 for those “Reach Out & Touch Someone” moments.
