Cut And Burned

I decided not long ago to learn “stained glass”. It is more complicated, and takes much longer, than I thought. The Juju Woman is very good at it…she does windows, lamps, kaleidoscopes, peppers, blades, scenes, etc…you name it.

It’s a dangerous business…I have band-aids on several cuts and burns. Last night, I sliced a fresh grapefruit and, I was down on my knees in pain. Might be an option to Water-boarding. I was talking.

This is my first attempt. I was using some of the Juju Woman’s scrap glass. It wasn’t like I picked the colors. I’ll swap out the fishing line holding the basket as soon as I can find some decent chain.

Don’t laugh.

Bwahahahah!!!

I say that’s a damn good job, especially for your first piece. I always wanted to learn to make stained glass, but I am very accident prone with sharp objects.

Far out man…I think, for my next piece, I’ll attempt a F-22 Raptor.

I like it! Looks great. I shall leave playing with sharp objects to people who have better coordination than I do… I like my fingers and want to keep them. LOL.

Not bad! I did stained glass commercially for a year right out of college with a friend who had a studio and taught me everything. I can still point out some of my work around Savannah 30 years later.

Next you’ll be wanting to learn copper foiling, then, if you’re reallly courageous, beveling glass.
