Close Call

Just returned from a short road trip…if you call 8 hours (one way) short.

That damn dog of mine, Stretch, decided he was going to herd some cows. I thought he’d just stand back and bark, but no…he charged ‘em and got between a couple of calves and the bull. This is the bull beginning its charge. All is well, Stretch got away, and he’s still alive, but it was close. That bull tried to kick him with his hind legs like he was in overtime and wanted a field goal. Stretch dodged ‘em…barely. He’s more agile and faster than you might think. He’s also relentless…or stupid…or crazy…he just kept on fucking with ‘em. I had to put him on a long leash after this incident.

More later!

I don’t know, a 12.5 pound dog trying to take on a 1,500 pound bull is crazy, or priceless. He thinks he’s larger than he is. Fact.

I love Stretch. He’s like the poster child for “What the fuck, why not?”

He is a piece of work. I laughed too, but this time he really scared me.

I am sorry but I laughed too because that’s exactly what Jack would do. Exept Jack isn’t fast and probably would have been sent rolling. Angus cows are very protective of their calves so I am surprised a cow didn’t go after Stretch.

It was funny, but when I saw those hind legs barely miss him, I changed my mind. He was all like nah nah nah nah na, missed me. After I corralled his ass, he went back for more, and showed his mischievous gene, and that damn bull almost crashed through the fence and got both of us. For a second I was wondering if I was going to have to shoot it to save our asses. Problem was, I didn’t have a gun with me. I’m not a cowboy, and I didn’t have a cape.

    Stretch is teh awesome!
My pup would certainly show attitude, and he is fast… but perhaps not bright enough to survive such an adventure.
Definitely something to laugh about afterward…

Oh and I like how the cows are all “What the fuck is that?”

      You’re right…I’m certain they’d never seen a Doxie.

Too bad you do not have video, it would go viral.

Laura’s Jack is like this. He is great at STARTING a fight and then delegates his people to handle the details of finishing it. He is twelve feet tall though so what do you expect…

Yep, seen plenty of cattle kill much larger (50-70 lb.) dogs.
