I really have no idea what is best. If someone does, please let me know.
Here’s the deal.
I’ve been tasked by the Juju Woman’s company to find a digital video recorder camera. Price range is about 800 -1,100 dollars. Has to be user friendly. Good thing is, I can use it anytime I want.
Any ideas? Need to make a decision pretty soon.
Thanks.

Go to Amazon and read the reviews. I just use me camera and I have a little Flip video. That’s my suggestion. Lots of help ain’t I?
What is it they want to use it for? Will it be professional type productions? Do they just want to grab event video?
If they want a more polished look – have a look at the DSLR’s that do hi def video. Of course for 800-1000 you won’t be able to get the really high end cameras – more like a Nikon D90 or the Canon equivalent (can’t remember what it’s called). Also the Olympus EP1 – smaller but changeable lenses.
The advantage – you can use different lenses for different effects instead of a fixed lens on a camera.
Canon makes some good dedicated video cameras so look up reviews of those.
One thing to remember – get one with an audio input jack!!! Very important if you want good audio. The on camera audio is generally pretty poor. I’ll look around and see what else I can find.
I just saw this, very tiny: http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/pd/baseProductID.180722000/productID.201961500?cm_mmc=media-banner-_-kodak-_-homepage-_-mini-well2-_-072610
What I would do is go to Adorama [dot] com and there you can narrow it down with a search criteria.
Here are their camcorders:

You can look at what’s available in the price range you specified. You needn’t necessarily purchase from there, but it will certainly help point you in the right direction.
Oh, duh…OK, ignore that, since you are not looking for a camcorder (I jumped the gun there a bit), but I am sure you can still go there to help narrow down the process.
