Yes he is, and basically a good dog. His major problem is that he is fearless. He will “take on” anything…small or large. I think he truly believes he’s the same size as his perceived opponent. I wish I had a film of him getting all up on a 2,000 lb. bull. That damn bull rushed him and he got out of the way, then the damn bull tried to kick him and he dodged that as well. Scared the shit outta me. I’ve seen him back down a couple of Rhodesian Ridgebacks before, but they all got cooled out in the end. That also scared the shit outta me. He still has that Badger hunting gene. Dachshunds are the smallest of hounds, but I can tell you there is no foo-foo in him at all. Also, there is no way anyone could sneak up on me when Stretch is around. He is protective.
Dachs will take on a Sherman tank. FACT!!
