Every year, I give up meat for two non-consecutive months. I have nothing against meat, but my body likes how it feels after a break. I’m no whacked out vegetarian, but I am always amazed how I feel after a month of no meat. Not better, not worse, just different. It’s a good feeling. Lighter, I guess, for lack of a better word. I don’t need to lose any poundage, but it does make you feel different with what you have.
This year, The Juju Woman has decided to join me. We’ll start with Lent, a little longer than a month. But we ain’t giving up the wine, and I’m not gonna stop grinding beans every morning. I’m into cooking, and I can make just about everything in my book, without meat. Some of my best recipes are meatless. To each their own. Actually, I kinda look forward to doing it. I always have food plans in my head.
No big deal, just my choice. At least the government is not telling me what I can or cannot eat…not yet.

I give you a ton of credit. I don’t think I could give up meat (or anything else for that matter!!). I should try to give up sweets. Just to see if I could do it. I bet I’d feel better if I did.
I agree with you about the wine and coffee. Coffee is my favorite way to start a day and I will never give up my booze.
Giving up anything is difficult.
You should read Sithy and see everything I’m giving up
I did…Luck!
