I was totally wrong on predicting a Romney win. I have another prediction…last line
Well, I was thinking Romney was gonna win it. I cannot believe that the majority of people wanted four more years of this bullshit. The fact is, and I’ll debate this with anyone, is that the majority of the people in America are uneducated. They don’t understand how to drill down through the issues both on a domestic and international level.
I’m not doom and gloom, but this might be the beginning of the end. I know no one who is better off now than they were four years ago. The United States that you and I grew up in, is basically gone. Troubled times ahead.
More small businesses will close, unemployment will go up, taxes will increase, quality health care will “go down”, the military will be devastated, and I could go on and on and on. You and I will soon be paying for a tunnel in CA (pork in the ObamaCare bill), at a cost of 900 grand, that will allow turtles to cross the road. If anyone in their right mind believes any of this is a good thing, they’re smoking crack.
In the end, I guess the people decided that they would rather live under Socialism than a Constitutional Republic. The problem I have is, the majority of the people don’t understand the difference.
In my opinion, too much government is a bad thing. I also strongly believe in states rights. We’re headed down a slippery slope.
Hell, if I could, I’d move to the islands and open a fruit stand.
The America we know, will cease to exist in about three years.

The America we knew has already ceased to exist. No fanfare, no bursting bombs, just a steady and rapidly increasing slide into the morass of humanism and false gods.
Just an old farts opinion.
I’ll have to agree with you. Thanks for stopping by.
As for your predictions, you also predicted that no one would know the outcome of this race for months due to law suits and recounts.
Well, the only candidate who’s lawyered up is Rightie and teabag favorite Allen West down in FLA–despite the fact that all the votes are in and he lost by a decided margin.
Yabu, take a powder. Everything’s going to be fine.
Depends on your definition of “fine”.
“teabag favorite”??
Please remind us again who is the Party of Tolerance?
I’m now considering applying for a govt grant for purchasing Libertarian Party Tea shirts, and giving them away for free this coming spring at festivals and gatherings. We need to start courting voters at the grassroots level for the 2014 midterms. If some Progressive family member asks about it; tell ‘em it was free, like Obamaphones, or Cash for Clunkers. Start telling them leftwingers in your subsistence circle that the Libertarian Party is the way toward free brand new clothes!
Because the Republicans ain’t getting it done.
I hope it’s not too late for some change.
The Modern Survival Manual by Fernando Ferfal Aquirre is a book about surviving the Argentina collapse. Never thought I would have to put into practice his survival techniques. But I started about a year ago. Just google “Surviving in Argentina” the blog and book will pop up. I suspect most of you are already familiar with him.
Good luck to us all.
I’ve been by there many times before. Interesting, and sad, to say the least. As a matter of fact, I’ve spent hours in his archives, but I haven’t read his book. I think I will.
What you say is 100% of what I believe. Also, as EPA regs continue, energy prices will go out the roof; as regulatory restrictions prevail, Business will go way Republican; when Obamacare kicks in big-time, Republicans will take control of the Senate in two years. Sadly, this might be too little, too late.
I’m not certain what’s gonna happen, but I do believe it will get a whole lot worse fairly soon. What does surprise me, is that the majority of the people signed on for another four years of this shit. we’re is deep shit.
We have reached the tipping point where more people get “free” shit from the government than put anything into their country. They have no incentive to vote in anyway except the one that continues the handouts. Hell, if I were these folks, I’d be hard pressed nowadays to vote for someone who would make me go to work to earn my video games and Twinkies. Easier to lie on the couch and let it be handed to me. A sorry state to be sure.
“A sorry state to be sure.”
And I agree, we might have reached the “tipping point”.
Yaba,
The America we know ceased to exist long ago. I think I was just too much of an optimist to realize it.
Sadly we’re (I apologize for including anyone but myself in this) ………I’m going to think much smaller now. No parties, tea or otherwise, for me. From now, and into the foreseeable future, it’s going to have to be family and tribe.
I’m thinking along those same lines. Although, I am still surprised that the people gave him another four years. Shocked, actually. I must be out of touch with reality.
“In the end, I guess the people decided that they would rather live under Socialism than a Constitutional Republic. The problem I have is, the majority of the people don’t understand the difference.”
Or live under what they incorrectly call a democracy. It is funny that the same folks who are beside themselves with glee about CO and WA legalizing pot are the same ones who want to do away with the electoral college. I say let it burn. Looking at the long game, people need to feel the pain to learn. Unfortunately, those harsh lessons will probably come long after I have left my mortal coil. Ah well.
Well said, and you’re right…people will feel the pain, stoned or not.
I come from the group that believes the world as we know it will end on Solstice this year. Not planetary destruction, though some of that will occur as well and is already winding up but definitely changes in social structures that will result in amazing change and unfortunately, I believe, massive dieoff of all populations due to natural disaster, illness, etc. However – sometime down the road, things will be better. Who will be there to see it is the question.
Well, maybe not, maybe so. What I do for fun is go to the Mayan and Aztec ruins all over Mexico and Central America. I’ve been to many, more than once. Anyway, if we don’t get slammed by some Cosmic event, we’re gonna kill ourselves anyway. There are many ways to do that. It could possibly be the “End of Days”. Hell if I know. Radiation would be a huge problem, but disease would be worse.
I could write a book about how I feel, but nobody would read it.
I would, for we share commons beliefs and attitudes. And disgust at how stupid the electorate is.
America is just another “empire” about to bite the dust every empire bites, and we who see it happening are upset, naturally.
But empires always collapse. We began to give up being a constitutional Republic with Lincoln; Wilson and the Fed and the IRS and direct election of the Senate pretty much finished the task.
Add to it manufactured wars for which men died while pols took credit and thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians were brutally murdered …
Obama is like Caligula – so incredibly perverse that he is halfway considered normal. There is no going back, it is not merely the Bammster America would have to overcome, it is a century and a half of imperialism and federal gummint over-reach – none of which a single election ever staunched.
We are the ones who must decide . . .
What was and is no more . . . or what will be.
The present is lost.
I’m afraid you’re right. It’s a very complex problem.
Please let me know if your fruitstand needs some part-time help. I’m on board for that exodus plan. H, not so much, but I could talk him around, given time.
You’re hired. Talk to your boy.
Yabu,
The assembled lot of us could put enough firepower on most any Carribean island as to utterly overwhelm most “host” country’s military ability to counter our presence.
Yes, we lack artillery, and any meaningful numbers of automatic and crew served weaponry. They tend to lack air support, riflemen, sound tactics and martial experience.
Locale properly chosen, we win. Not painlessley, nor bloodlessly….but, we win.
So, about that new town you “populated” a few months ago? Time for some strategic grade planning? You know the drill…. amateurs discuss tactics, while professionals discuss logistics!
An interesting thought excercise, anyway.
