Amateur Night

If you’re out and about tonight, take a cab. The law iill be out in force, roadblocks and all. They take no prisoners.

True story: worth remembering. I was in downtown Lexington, KY one New Years Eve, and the whole town was drunk. The Juju Woman and I were at a party in an old ballroom in an older building. Way too many people inside, not safe. The police and fire department made an appearance, as in crashed through the doors.Thousands of people staggering in the streets, and it was ten degrees out. The cops were everywhere, arresting everyone they could…had the wagons on site. Total chaos. There was no way we could leave the building, we were on the fifth floor, without going through the police line. We busted the glass and frame to a window on the fifth floor, climbed onto the roof, found a fire escape, and down we went. The metal on the fire escape was so cold you could barely hang on. We made it, as well as the three mile walk. Ten degrees is damn cold when you’re not dressed for it.

This is the smart part: We ran into two young ladies who where way too drunk, and they had a long ride home. There were no cabs available in the whole damn city. None. Know what they did? They called a wrecker, yes they did. Cost ‘em a little more, but they got a safe ride home and their car was in the driveway when they woke up the next morning. Pretty damn smart if you ask me.

I was way too drunk, so I took a bus home last night.

I can’t believe it fit in my driveway.

I went to NYE party next door. I do it right :D

Nephew called me on NYD and told me he caught 11 drunks (he’s a state trooper) during his 6 hour shift. People just don’t learn.
