State Of The Mess – 2013

The State of the Union is in shambles. There is no recovery, and probably won’t be. The United States of America is in worse shape than it has ever been in in my lifetime. It is not getting better, in fact, it is getting worse by the day. Obama has done more damage since he was elected than I thought possible, and people worship him. Continue to worship him. Unbelievable.

The media has become the propaganda arm of the government, and the people believe that shit. The people are being convinced that Too Much Government is a good thing.

I know a lot of people who do many different things to support themselves and their families, and not one of them can say their quality of life has improved since Obama was elected. For many, it’s much worse. I take that back, I do know someone who works for a firearm manufacturer.

America is in a downward spiral, fact. If anyone would like to debate me, I’m on. Start it in the comments. I don’t get much traffic or many comments, but I’m looking for double digits.

    BBJ –

I’ll comment, although not hardly contrary to your words.

Mencken predicted we would elected “an Obama,” and would get it good and hard for having done so.

Americans did so (not you and me) – but we’re stuck with the Communist the majority actually elected. I just shake my head at the stupidity.

No “majority” elected anyone. Obama was DOWN TEN MILLION VOTES from his ”08 total. Romney flat-out LOST because a few million conservatives finally saw through the 20-year-long, BigWar-BigGovernment neo-con scam perpetrated by the Dead Elephant Party. And that’s good. Not bad. Obama polarizes. And that’s good too. Because only via Civil War will we get the Republic back.

I fear the damage done by King Barack I and his masters may not be undone. Most things I see predict a collapse no later than 2014.

      Sadly, I agree with you.

No opposing commentary from me – I am truly fearful for the future of my country.

Yabu, predicting on how all this will shake out is difficult. Will there be strident un-civil unrest? Possibly, though I think the state, from local to the federal level, will strike swiftly and brutally to quell such un-civil unrest.

More likely, and this is very unfortunate, what America may experience is a continued growth of the state at the federal level, and state and local governments will kowtow to the feds in order for the tap of funds to remain open to these lower levels, i.e. local and state governments will in large part roll over and be the good lap dogs they’ve shown to be over the years.

If we consider the countries of Europe, and the rise of socialism in its various guises within the countries of Europe, America still has a ways to go before it hits rock bottom. Certainly, there have been episodes of un-civil unrest in Europe, but these episodes are short lived. The we want handouts folks blow off some steam, the hoipolloi mouth some platitudes regarding this or that in response, and things grind on, grinding down the productive class further and further into slavery to the state and the we want handouts folks gain a few more trinkets.

As America’s Declaration of Independence so clearly states, Americans are “disposed to suffer,” and that patiently I’d say, because Americans do not seem to understand that we are living under “absolute despotism,” sugar coated in progressivism.

Very well said. I can’t call it, but this tree can fall in many directions. I think it is going to fall though. They’re putting all the straps in the wrong places.

Like many another tyrant, O’bama tells people how much he is helping them while his lackeys are doing exactly the opposite, and the sheeple lap it up. This is the plan. The BIG lie. The Con. Get them looking at those evil rich people and ignoring the theft and abuses being heaped upon the dumb masses by the “other hand”.

No matter how much we rant and cry, “Wolf, wolf”, the sheeple have heard it all before and so continue to keep their heads down looking at the ground ignoring those who are being systematically culled from the edges of a smaller and smaller flock. When they finally do look up, with wondering baaaaaaaahhhs, it will be too late.

A stall spin indeed. We will recover, however. The fool in the WH will be gone in four years. By that time I reckon some bitter lessons will have been learned by those who voted for him. More of the same after him will not be an option.

Keep the faith. The pendulum has not come to rest… and it never will.

I don’t think we have another four years.

I believe we are experiencing a societal sea change, kind of another industrial revolution, except a technological one. Think when America changed from a mostly agricultural society to a manufacturing one pre-WW2. Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath is not only a great story, but prescient in describing how humanity deals with great changes and upheavals that they do not completely understand.

The technological revolution we are in the middle of is changing not only our society, but the rest of humanity as well. The world is shrinking yet again.

Most of us will be long gone before this fully plays out, but I believe America will see it’s way through. Civil society and the rights of man as expressed by Locke and Paine are too fundamental to be merely cast aside. History does not, and will not just disappear. We just happen to be on the difficult side of the next plateau.

If what you posit is true, great. But as you say, I for one will be glad to be dead when the serious shit hits the big fan.

I absolutely agree Jerry. I believe the technology will actually make it worse.

Technology has been helpful in creating a paradigm shift in our society. I have my doubts it will ever shift back to its principles in my lifetime.

    • Posted February 15, 2013 at 6:23 pm | Permalink

Technology will probably sink us in the end, in one form or fashion. Damn!

I went through the Carter administration as a young adult. It was a knee jerk reaction to Nixon, who betrayed the trust of the people and the faith in the United States form of government. It was the same feckless Republican party back then and the same piles of crap were forced upon the public.

There’s always a weakness in the armor of tyrants. This administration’s weakness is the media. The tiniest shift away from the cheerleader mentality will lead to a landslide of a shift in public opinion. Whether this happens, or not, will be seen, but it won’t happen until enough people refuse to watch, read, or subscribe to the media outlets that help perpetuate the Progressive ideology. I do what I can, but there’s not enough like me at this time to make the difference.

Correct. If the media throws him off the truck and under the bus, there might be some change.

Drop the doom & gloom. This country is stronger than most realize. I’ll say it again, the pendulum never stops swinging. Carter, the last nightmare we elected, was succeeded by….

I’m not just thinking about America, I’l thinking about the world as a whole. I’m not a follower or supporter of Doom and Gloom. I do support reality.

Come the SHTF, the media become a primary target group. No one to blame but themselves, as I see it.

Sadly, I predict a total economic collapse no later than the end of 2014. The sheeple continue to drink the kool-aid being force fed them via Obama and his liberal mainstream media backers. Turn on the Today Show in the mornings and prepare to have the contents of your stomach release.

I’ve said it once, twice, more even, and I’ll say it again:

The priorities of sheeple in this so called Republic are as follows:

    (1) Sex
    (2) Hollywood
    (3) Dancing With The Stars
    (4) American Idol
    (5) As many freebies as they can get

In any other age, Obama and the Democrats in “power” would have been removed from office and dealt with accordingly. They are treasonous, no good sonzabitches. I firmly believe they are being controlled by Satan himself. Everything they have and are doing is aimed at tearing this nation apart at the seams. If what they are doing isn’t classified as “treason”, then I don’t know what the definition is.

Oh, but we’re all supposed to get worked up over a guy taking a drink of water.

    Now, that’s news. Big time.

This nation, and her sheep, deserve the government they get. They let it happen. In fact, they wanted it. It’s just a shame the rest of us have to go down with the sinking ship.

Sadly, I agree with you, and the really sad thing is, we let it happen.
